Dr Amitava Sengupta is a profound Paediatrician and neonatologist. He was the Chief Advisor of 49th Annual National Conference of Indian Academy of Pediatrics- IAP (Pedicon 2012). He specializes in managing premature babies and has trained from the prestigious Utrecht Childrens Hospital, Netherlands in Neonatal Intensive Care. He is medical advisor to various international and national NGOs related to childrens work, like Netherlands Inter Country Child Welfare Organization (NICWO) and Prayas, New Delhi. He has been involved in neonatal intensive work at different prestigious hospitals in Delhi for more than 2 decades. He is actively involved with various academies and national bodies like National Neonatology Forum(NNF) and Indian Academy of Paediatrics. He has been chiefly responsible for developing the paediatrics and neonatology unit at Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon an above tertiary care facility. He has also been instrumental in developing and implementing Developmental Supportive Care (DSC) in association with NNF.
