Dr Anand Murlidhar Rao is an independent Interventional Cardiologist in Mumbai involved in performing Complex Coronary Interventions through the Transradial route. He consults privately at his Heart Matters clinic in Bandra, and is also attached to Holy Family Hospital (Bandra), BSES MG Global Hospital (Andheri), Breach Candy Hospital, and Smt. BCJ Hospital (Santa Cruz). Dr Rao completed the MBBS and MD (Medicine) degree programmes and internship from MR Medical College in Gulbarga, Karnataka, between 1988 and 1998. Subsequently, he studied and trained for the DNB (Cardiology) qualification at Nanavati Hospital and Heart Institute in Mumbai, and passed the examination in July 2002. Dr Rao has been extensively trained in complex intervention in Mumbai and at Southampton General Hospital in the United Kingdom. He has been performing Transradial Intervention for the last 10 years. His sub-speciality is Complex Intervention, including Rotablators and IVUS through the Transradial route. Dr Rao also does Peripheral Intervention and Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasties.
