Dr Shikha Halder graduated from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad and then qualified for her MD degree from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), Lucknow. In 1994. She then joined the Middlesex Hospital, London and worked there until July 1996 Thereafter she worked as a Senior Resident at SGPGI until December 1999. Thereafter she worked as Associate Consultant at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute, New Delhi and later as Consultant at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital New Delhi. She was a member of the group which introduced Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) in New Delhi in 2002. Later she was a member of the radiosurgery team at Apollo Hospital from December 2002 to April 2009 where she was involved in the radiosurgery treatment of AVM’s, acoustic neuroma, pituitary adenoma, craniopharyngioma, brain metastasis and similar clinical conditions. In May 2009, she joined as a senior consultant and director at Roentgen-BLK radiation oncology centre at BLK superspeciality hospital and was responsible of initiating the state of the art radiation oncology facility in New Delhi. Dr Halder is the recipient of the 3rd 4th S Takahashi Memorial International Fellowship twice for her exemplary work in cancer cervix which was presented at, Nagoya, Japan in 2001 & 2004.
